Fútbol Trainer Volunteers

This is a unique opportunity for individuals who have a passion for kids, youth, and fútbol (soccer). This is open to anyone who is 18+ years of age. Our partnership in the town of Uvita de Osa, Costa Rica provides for an unforgettable experience. You do not have to be a pro-player or expert. A day in the life of a Fútbol Trainer Volunteer includes:

  • Helping setup and take down training equipment

  • 1-on-1 player development with local kids in the community of Uvita de Osa.

  • Helping with administration needs

  • Assisting weekly trainings and games

  • We believe in doing our job with excellence. We have hosted 1,000+ volunteers for 15+ years from nearly 30 different countries. We understand the challenges, goals, and needs of our volunteers.

  • Our program fee is $300 USD per month with a one (1) month minimum. For every month after that the program fee is reduced to $175 per month. The payment of this program fee will be further explained in your interview process.

    During the interview process, we offer a range of options for your everyday living expenses. Our volunteers typically spend $800-$1,200 USD per month, including the program fee. The exact amount varies based on accommodation choices and additional program add-ons, such as Spanish lessons.

    To ensure transparency and convenience, we follow an "à la carte" approach, allowing you, the volunteer, to have control over the program costs that best align with your budget and trip requirements. Of course we will make all reservations and coordinate everything for you so that you don’t have to do this alone.

    When you sign up for our program, you can expect a comprehensive onboarding process that will properly prepare you for your trip. We will also arrange transportation to and from the SJO airport and help connect you to comfortable and convenient accommodations for your stay.

    Our founders, Jason and Sarah Smith, are hands-on in providing in-person interaction and consulting to ensure that you have the best possible experience. We believe that a clear and easy-to-follow program schedule is essential, which is why we set up a professional program schedule that outlines what to expect from the day you arrive to the day you depart the program.

    And, of course, participation in the local fútbol academy volunteer program is included in the fee. By volunteering with us, you are not only broadening your own horizons but also making a positive impact on the community.

    It's important to note that your program fee goes towards creating a sustainable program that includes scholarships for children and youth in the community, program equipment, and special needs of the fútbol Academy.

  • Our organization is proud to partner with local small business owners to provide exceptional accommodations for our volunteers. Our lodging options are conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from a pristine waterfall, a 10-minute bike ride to the Fútbol pitch or grocery store, and within walking distance of multiple restaurants. Not only are our accommodations aesthetically pleasing, but they are also priced competitively, ranging from $300 to $550 per month, depending on availability and amenities.

    At our organization, we prioritize transparency in all our operations, including our role in facilitating your reservation. We aim to make a direct connection between you and the local Costa Rican landlords to ensure that we support and uplift the local community.

Positioned on the edge of the primary rainforest and the Pacific Ocean, it presents a remarkable opportunity to enrich your volunteer experience. We consistently establish partnerships with various community organizations and collaborate with the soccer academy to engage in activities such as beach cleanups, reforestation projects, sea turtle conservation initiatives, animal rescue efforts, and more. By joining our program, we can provide you with meaningful involvement in our community and the lives of children, while also contributing to the improvement and safety of our planet for everyone.

  • Through our strategic partnership, we offer a distinctive collaboration with a local language school. We provide various options for your professional development and continued education. The prices may vary depending on the course level, which includes advanced, intermediate, and beginner. Additionally, you can opt for either private instruction or group instruction, facilitated by a certified Costa Rican instructor.

  • Yes. You must be 18 years of age or older. Applicants younger than 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian.

  • Yes! Our founders Jason & Sarah live and work in the community of Uvita de Osa. In fact, you will interact with them on a weekly basis.
